First select a digit. Then select the cell in which you want to insert it.

Mixed
Click on a cell to select it and play like Cell first mode. Click on it again to unselect it and deactivate Cell first mode.
Long press a digit (or Ctrl + digit with keyboard) to lock it and play like Digit first mode. Click on it again to unlock it and deactivate Digit first mode.

Incorrect values
You are notified when you enter a digit in the wrong cell.
